What is a WebRTC leak?
WebRTC is a browser technology that enables real-time communication (video calls, peer-to-peer file sharing). To establish direct connections, it discovers your device's local and public IP addresses through a process called ICE candidate gathering.
The problem: this IP discovery happens outside the VPN tunnel in many browsers, meaning your real IP address can be exposed to websites even when your VPN is active. This is a known vulnerability in Chrome and Firefox.
CyberCat prevents WebRTC leaks by routing all WebRTC traffic through the VPN tunnel. If you're using another VPN or no VPN at all, you can disable WebRTC in your browser settings or use our browser extension to block leaks automatically.
